Santander has an extraordinary scenic beauty which is mainly due to its coastal location, as a peninsula surrounded by the bay and open the Cantabrian Sea coast, mostly cliffs.
But beaches are perhaps the best known and appreciated natural areas. His sinuous alignment along three miles of coastline, provides both small and wide sandy areas: some sheltered from the winds and with calm waters (Los Peligros, La Magdalena and Bikinis), others open to the Bay of Biscay, with more waves (The Camello, La Concha, First Beach, Second Beach or Castañeda, Molinuca and Mataleñas). Together with them and among them, beautiful green spaces overlooking the coast, as Piquío, with its emblematic gardens planted on a rocky cliff, which like the prow of a ship crosses the sea separating the two beaches of El Sardinero. Near the Parque de la Magdalena (in the peninsula itself), full of vegetation and trees, opposite the island of Mouro and the mighty Bay of Biscay, up near the Royal Palace, the most typical image of Santander.
Santander is about 35 minutes drive away from us.
